Apps that launch with Windows pile up over time. Turn off the ones you do not need.

Low on space
A nearly full drive slows everything down. Keep at least 10 percent free.

Background apps
Browser tabs and updaters quietly eat your memory. Close what you are not using, then restart.

It is just old
An old hard drive or low RAM can only do so much. An SSD or more RAM is the cheapest real fix.
